I can't go to open fencing tonight because of work. So instead of working, I decided I should better devote this time to coming up with clever ways to convinve my boss that I should be fencing instead.

Things I've come up with so far:

1.Convince him that I am in fact building a fence for the parking area. Two problems with this one: I'd have to at some point produce a fence, and we have underground parking.

2.Convince him that fencing will somehow improve the profile of our company, thus raising our valuation for any future investments. They're into that, 'improve the profile' and 'raise the valuation' stuff.

    3. It's really about 'networking', not fencing.

    4. Cell reception is better at the salle?

    5. Get him to start fencing. :D

Get him into it. Invite him to a practice session.

I hate working. A job is such an invasion of privacy.

Hey buddy...I don't know what kind of salle you've got, but I can't get a stinking signal inside ours! It's like the stealth salle or something!

But hey, we ARE lying to the boss, right?

    you've got a friend

Try to find a job during the DAYTIME that way, you can go fence at night. AND your weekends would be freed up for competitions.

Wonder of wonders, I'm agreeing with D+P+F. Then again, such a course might just aid said boss in catching you when you should be elsewhere...

Tell your boss it's Therapy. You would be saving the company money in worker's comp claims. Get your company's benefit plan to pay for it.

I must agree myself...I mean, is it not Good and Right to always win more Converts to the Cause?
