I think the FIE has specific guidelines for designated competitions, but if it’s strictly for personal, recreational use, it’s fine. :)

IIRC, FIE approved designs for country logos/flags only apply to World Champs and Olys

Your answers missed US Fencing Competitions. From the Athletes' Handbook.

Note: At USA Fencing local, divisional, and regional competitions, there are no restrictions on colors or
decorations on uniforms, providing that the uniforms still comply with all other requirements.

USA Fencing Note: Masks may feature colored designs, on condition that they are approved by the
Referees’ Commission (formerly Fencing Officials Commission) at least 30 days before being used for the
first time in an official USA Fencing competition OR at the discretion of the head referee at the event.

Whether they enforce it is another matter.

Thanks for this. As talentless and as aged
as i am at fencing, the Oly's and FIE level contests are just not gonna happen... unless they let me openly cheat and look the other way.

i think the last time we talked about mask designs it came down to 'if it's not approved by the USFA any local BC can decide to prohibit it.'

But unless it's somehow offensive or insulting probably no one will care enough to do so.
