There are thousands of American cities named for British cities ( or “new” British city)
No. It only took 30 seconds after seeing it.
New York NY
New London CT
Well, those are in "New England."
Last I checked neither Pennsylvania nor New York were considered part of New England (although I suppose you could argue that they once were - but only if all of the remaining colonies were as well).
And it's not just English names which were carried over. What about Mannheim, Pennsylvania or Berlin, Wisconsin? Even within the US you find more examples than I care to count. How many Portlands are there between Portland, Maine and Portland, Oregon?
There are more than 30 cities in the US named "Portland" depending on how you count them: https://wjbq.com/how-many-cities-named-portland-are-there-in-america-more-than-you-think/
Separate names with a comma.
