Pistol Grip vs. French Grip

    Keep in mind that you have to cut the end of the blade in order to fit a pistol grip. So you can try out a french grip and change to pistol afterwards, but not vice versa since you can't mount a french grip on an already shortened blade.

    Otherwise, everything is already said imho. If you are fencing foil, a pistol grip is probably the best. For an epeeist, the grip should fit to the fencing style. If you prefer to fence against the opponent's blade, you should use the pistol grip. Otherwise, if you prefer fencing without blade contact, the french grip might be better.

    I am asking if he can borrow a club weapon not convert a french epee (club or otherwise) to ortho.
