    Hello,

Since last week, I'm using the new FIE Rules (from December 2017) which adds a lot of (apparently) useless things. [Just see it had 120 rules and is now set at 170 rules.] In this version, I don't see the rule saying that fencers can't grab the electrical stuff (like the reel's cord). Has it been cancelled ? If no, where is it now ?

t.22.3 states "During the bout, the fencer must not, under any circumstances, take hold of any part of the electrical equipment with the non-sword hand (cf. t.114, t.116, t.120); any touch scored by the fencer at fault is annulled."

British Fencing have an app you can download to your phone. It's actually pretty good for cross referencing things like penalties and the rules.

That's in the USFA rules. In the FIE rules, it's t.29.3.

Thank you. I found it now.
I asked because, with the one of december, I can't find myself in these 178 articles, and I don't really see what has changed (except the rules for the bout's end (which were not) and a dumb thing which has been removed from the non-combativity.
Warning, you're using the bad update. Now that penalties are in articles t.152 to t.170.

From the British website http://www.britishfencing.com/governance/rules/fie-rules/ which also has the decisions of the Congress. You also can go to the FIE website http://fie.org/fie/documents/rules which also has the reorganization of both the Organizational section http://static.fie.org/uploads/18/91533-9.1 Organisation rules restructured ang.pdf as well as the Technical section http://static.fie.org/uploads/18/91536-9.2 Technical rules restructured ang.pdf
