This is probably a stupid question. Will German springs and screws work on a french tip. I'm pretty new to taking care of my weapons and I just realized I ordered German stuff and I want to know if I need to buy the French stuff.

Generally yes....the major manufacturers parts are pfretty much interchangable in epee...negrini and other Italian designs being the exception, since those designs are different.

Leon Paul epee screws work very well...better thread cutting and they actually go in easier.

it's in foil where you have major differances.

Always remember that once you put LP screws in a hole, it won't hold the other kinds. It's a one way deal.

It is a good idea to go home from the dance with the guy that brought you.

Why not stick with French parts?

I have found that French and German contact springs are interchangeable. Not so sure for pressure springs.

IF French Epee screws won't stay in a French tip, then try German.

IF German screws won't stay in, then try Leon Paul.

Blue Gauntlet had some Epee points they were calling SG points a couple of years ago. Haven't heard much about them lately.

BUT neither French screws or German screws would stay in the SG tips. They had to have their own "SG" screws. I bought ten and still have them.

I don't know where the SG screws fit into the French-German-Leon Paul progression.

Anyone else know anything about the SG screws?

I agree that it is a great idea. I just accidentally ordered the German stuff. I wasn't paying attention and I'm new to doing my own weapons maintenence. Thanks for the heads up about not being able to back down.
