What is it? Where is it? When did you get it? What on earth were you thinking?

If you don't have a fencing-related tattoo, have you ever seen one?

I'm gonna guess no matter what it is and no matter where it is, it's a fencing tattoo, so probably not that cool.

I've often though about getting a tattoo of a sword hilt in my inguinal (lookit up) area. Basically if I've got my shirt off, it'll look like i have a sword in my pants. I've gotten dangerously to getting this done.

A small sabre on my shoulderblade, because I'm entitled to it. I've had it for a few years now. I keep forgetting I have it because I can't see it, so when people react it startles me.

One of the coaches at my club has a fleching fencer on his inner arm. It's pretty badass. He lurks here sometimes, maybe he'll show it off.

At the start of our sectionals years ago we were getting ready to head to our strips and noticed a guy getting dressed w/ a large, detailed, colored hand-sized tat of his competitive fencing club's insignia on his upper arm. We thought 'wow, a die hard fencer'.
Then he asked us what we were doing putting that weight thingy on the end of our foils.

I have a body-cord tattoo running from my wrist, up my arm, down my side, ending in my butt crack.

I know someone who had an artist friend custom design a tattoo for her.

He later decided he liked the design so much that he converted it into the logo for the club where he coached at the time.

Well, if we're talking fencing-related, a friend of mine has the Olympic rings on his shoulder blade, which he got after competing in the modern pentathlon event - not quite the same, but close enough for me.

I know a guy who has a rapier tatooed on his arm, with the words "in ferro veritas" around it. It's pretty awesome.

Strongly considering getting the following on weapon shoulder: Strain-Stress curve (an engineering chart that shows the amount of stretching a material undergoes, one of steel would look parabolic at an angle much like a foil that has just bent from impact) with a foil grip at the intersection of the graph so that it overlays the output of the graph with the bent foil blade. The culmination of 4 years of spending all of my time on fencing rather than on schoolwork and one very boring finite element analysis class.

I knew a guy who had a somewhat common chinese style dragon on his arm, but it was holding a saber!!

My impression was that he later regretted getting the tattoo, and I don't even know if he continued fencing beyond a couple of years...

No tattoo is either "cool" or "awesome". I'll grant you sad, but no more! :blah:

I happen to like mine a lot...'course, it's a memorial tat to one of my cats, but it DID provide a last bit of healing....12 years after she died.

Mine -- she's the M in H.O.M. (stands for Home of Mischief) [IMG]

My wife's....fairly awesome if I do say so! [IMG]
