My club and other clubs around my area have fencing camps for the kids in the summer but nothing for adult fencers who work and can't make the camps. :( I know everyone's busy in the summer with vacations, Nationals, etc., and it does cost money to keep the club open in the evening (my club doesn't have very many adult fencers, so understandable).
I was just wondering if other clubs around the country continue to have evening programs in the summer for working folk?

Our club continues its evening schedule during the summer, albeit with decreased child attendance. The more focused continue, as well as returning collegians.

My club has a series of summer fencing camps for kids during the day. Adult hours are reduced to two nights a week 5 to 9 - any weapon. (During the regular season different nights focus on different weapons.) Last summer it was surprisingly busy even during the hottest days. And we have no AC.

That's called Epee Season. Summers are too hot to wear the metallic bag.

Summer is great for fencing outdoors and giving more people a chance to see our sport.
We need all of you at Lehigh Valley Sportsfest in Allentown next weekend (search for Sportsfest on FRED).

    Only for weaklings. :p

Also, I laugh at the concept of "hot" in Canada. :D

our club runs normal schedule, except for a few days closed around holidays. day-camps during the day for school kids. we usually have a few 'fun' events through the summer - ice cream social, vet-21 fencing, house tournaments, etc.

My club runs summer camp during the day most weeks for kids, but the evening adult schedule remains the same Adult foil on M and W from 7-9. Adult Saber (and maybe Epee - don't know because I'm not there) Tues & Thurs eves 7-9. We've had a few closures for holidays, but classes and lessons continue as usual. Just with the AC turned up!

I guess the main problem is that we don't have many adult fencers right now. The club is fairly new so hopefully that will change over time.

The two clubs I frequent run during the summer, including having practice opportunities for adults as well as kids.

The only problem is that so many of the adults, including coaches as well as fencers, like to take vacations after Nationals. Things can be a little sparse until they get it out of their systems.

I've seen a couple "wine and fencing" tours, I think in Europe. (
    )
What I would be interested in is a fairly serious summer 2-3 day camp for adult fencers (well, Vet epee)
Somewhere nice, vacation on either end, a couple of good coaches, and Vet specific training and info. I would travel a ways for something like that...

Part of it is that most vets can't train five or six hours a day like teens do at camps. Two shorter sessions a day would be a lot easier on our bodies.

    Then you should consider this:

    http://www.fencingandfinewine.com/

The video you linked to is from this year's Fencing and Fine Wine camp in Bordeaux. The camps are geared towards Vets, have several excellent coaches, and the fencers over the years have mainly been epeeists.
