Alex Latzko sent out a message that his father died peacefully in his sleep today at the age of 90. William J. Latzko was born on October 28, 1928 in Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1939. He received a Bachelor of Science, Fordham University, 1950. He began working as a chemist and eventually became Director management science at Columbia Broadcasting System Columbia, New York City, 1961-1970. Vice president quality Irving Trust Company, 1970-1983. He served as a 1st lieutenant United States Army, 1950-1953. Korea. He was on the Board of Directors United States Fencing Association, 1954-1986, member executive committee, 1964-1986, national secretary, 1964-1972, national treasurer, 1982-1986. Cadre member of the United States Olympic Fencing Team, 1968, 72. Board directors United States Modern Pentathlon, San Antonio, 1960-1965. He and his wife, Constance "Connie" Latzko, helped run fencing competitions from the national level to the divisional level. The had two children, Victoria and Alex.
