Fencing.Net is NOT for advertising local competitions, regional competitions, or national competitions.

Well I posted as a bit of nonsense about an event getting top heavy with A's not as advertising. If you're in the baycup area you would already have received a notification/advertising from the BayCup. Can't see what Ancientepee is getting bent about. Seriously doubt anyone is going to come from out of the area. Actually think it may have lost one entrant. Could have sworn there were 13 now it's 12.

According to AncientEpee we aren't to post about NAC's, SN's, World Championships?

That's exactly why it doesn't belong on this web site. FdN is meant to be a forum for topics which might interest fencers in widely dispersed areas. There already exist other means of communicating information which is only of local and limited interest. Especially for a thread which will be of absolutely no interest to anyone less than a week from now. There are probably at least 20 competitions each week throughout the US. What would be the impact on FdN if each week there were 20 brand new threads started promoting each of those competitions? It's already a chore looking through the threads to see if there's one that's of interest, especially when some posters give the thread a cryptic title.

That's a really weird assertion to make given that FdN has a Tournaments and Camps subforum. That subforum however isn't this one.

Says Who and are you the one to define what is of interest to others?

Might put some life back in the forum. I scan it every day and have little problem deciding what is of interest and have to say as of late there's not as much as there used to be. Also look at quora, the bike forum, allaboutcircuits, nahauw, fencingforum and a few others. I'd really like to hear more of what's going on around the US and other countries, particularly the Americas. Think you may be having just a passing hissy.

In the top 5 threads in this forum, there are "2019-2020 SYC/ROC/SJCC Schedule" and "April NAC 2029 SLC".

    Hmm...

Now that's a helluva tournament. I don't think anyone can say the U who got his B by coming in 3rd doesn't deserve it. He won all 4 DEs to 15 and 8 of 12 5-touch pool bouts.

I fenced him in an E/under last month. He fenced in high school, took some time away, and came back this year. Pretty good.

Oh it was. I really like the format of two pools, then two DEs to make for a lot of fencing.
He was initially listed as an E15, and came roaring through this event.

Those results are fun. I recall a vet NAC where a certain unrated fencer won it all. Most people didn't know who he was (and had certainly never seen him fence), but those that did were completely unsurprised.

Yeah -- I'm planning it on my calendar.
Any way we can make it double-strip pools of 10 (twice), then the double DE? We'd get our money's worth!

You really want to fence 18 pool bouts before your first DE? You are an Iron Man!
