USA Fencing announced a new high performance director taking the helm at the organization. A transplant from British Fencing, David Sach is a former World Class Performance Pathway sabre coach. His duties there were to coach and oversee the British Olympic Sabre Team.
Sach himself was a Junior and Senior World Team fencer, with two individual silver medals earned at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2002. He also is an experienced FIE referee, having refereed the 2005 Senior Worlds and the 2008 Olympic Games.
Sach’s primary goal in his new post is to help the USA Fencing high performance team to further develop and implement a strategy to take talented athletes from the youth programs and get them through senior rankings and on to the Olympic Games.
