Team USA has Men’s Sabre and Men’s Epee on the road this weekend.  The sabrists head out to Budapest for their Grand Prix event and the epee squad is away in Tallinn, Estonia for one of the largest epee world cups of the season.

In Friday’s preliminary rounds,  Cody Mattern won all six of his pool bouts to advance directly to the final 64.  Adam Rodney, Alexander Tsinis fell in the table of 128, but Jimmy Moody advanced through the tables of 256 and 128 to tomorrow’s competition.

Seth Kelsey was exempt from preliminary competition as the tournament’s #4 seed.

In the top-64 the matchups are:

Jimmy Moody vs. #5 Nikolai Novosjolov (EST)

Seth Kelsey (#4) vs. #61 Ludvig Hillestad (NOR)

Cody Mattern vs. #43 Peter Szenyi (HUN)
