[edit] USFA Clubs
Most USFA clubs are for-profit organizations dedicated to exclusively to the training athletes in the sport of fencing. There are a number of important exceptions to this model. Notably, the Peter Westbrook Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and the New York Athletic Club supports and trains athletes in other sports as well.
A useful tool to identify clubs in your area can be found at Fencing.net's Fencing Clubs Directory.
[edit] Collegiate Teams
Collegiate teams in the US fall outside of the jurisdiction of the USFA but generally follow USFA rules. There are two types of collegiate fencing teams, NCAA and Collegiate Clubs.

[edit] High School Clubs
High School teams may or may not be affiliated with the USFA. A handful of schools give varsity status to athletes in these programs.
Many high school programs are organized into leagues, like the Southern California Scholastic Fencing League. New Jersey's high school fencing program is the best organized in the country, with four leagues and annual high school state championships.
