Summary: iPhone usability
January 27th, 2010

I discovered the other night in practice that an iPhone can be used while wearing this glove!  It requires more pressure than without a glove, and with slightly less accuracy, but it is very convenient not to have to remove the glove when using an iPhone to keep score and time.

The glove fits wonderfully, and has far more grip than anything I have ever used previously.

My only complaint is the durability.  I have had the glove for about 1 year now, fencing 3-4 times per week.  It is starting to develop holes in the grip on the fingers, but the glove still has some life left in it.  Also, the padding on the back is the least durable part of the glove; one good hit to the back of the hand and there will be a small hole in your glove.

When this glove is done, I will buy another.

Summary: wore out fast
May 17th, 2009
this is probably the best fitting glove i have ever had. the gel packs give this glove a nice feel. that being said i have owned the glove for five months fencing three nights a week and i have already almost worn holes in two of the fingers. for the price i would have expected better a better quality of leather to be used.

Summary: Comfy & Protective
February 11th, 2009
Just like a good relationship, this glove is extremely comfortable and highly protective.  The fit is snug but NOT restricting in any way.  The grip is secure and the cuff is generous and durable.  The gel pad protection is genius.  My hand was well protected even against teenage epee fencers who forgot they were holding a foil (sigh....).  The stretch fabric allows good air circulation as well.  My hand doesn't feel sweaty at all during a tournament.  Just try this glove and you'll be one of the converted.  The black/white/orange color scheme is stylin' as well.

Summary: Gel Pads!!
December 5th, 2008
I am enjoying this glove tremendously thus far. I can't stop talking about the grip pads on the palm. I've been fencing for a long time, and I've got that perma-callous right below my pinky to prove it ... the one that usually gets a little larger after a solid lesson, practice session, or tournament. Not any more. This glove provides really satisfactory padding right where I need it. The fit was a little bit stiff and tight upon first use, but has definitely stretched a little bit and is now properly snug. It's also kind of nice to have a roomier wrist area that doesn't require creative folding of one's jacket sleeve to attain a comfortable fit. I haven't been hit on the hand or the wrist yet to attest to the gel padding or slickness of the leather, but I think that all of the features combine to provide a very comfortable glove that truly lessens some of the problems/pains that can come from a long day of fencing. I loved my old Uhlmann glove, but the FWF Extreme Grip is definitely an upgrade.
