PBT Fencing Glove "Sticky"
I would like to share my view on the "PBT 'Sticky' Washable Fencing Glove".
The palm bit of the glove is made of a rubberized material supposed to give added grip. Exactly what I'd been looking for! No more damping my glove with water before breaking (hand)sweat to get a good grip.
I measured and decided size from the size chart on the PBT site. The size fits perfectly around the "palm bit" of my hand - but - the fingers on this glove are WAY too short!
My fingers aren't particularly long and usually I tend to find gloves fingers too long. That certainly does not go for this one... I fenced with it for four rounds of poules, attempting to "break it in". My middle finger has now gone numb!
All in all I would say that this glove is good, as it does provide excellent grip like expected. The rest of the glove is made of suede and the "collar" (?) of the glove is somewhat stretchy, fitting nice and tight around the arm. Now, if only my fingers would fit in!
My advice:
If you're looking for a glove with excellent grip this might be the one for you - but ONLY if you consider yourself to have short fingers. Not medium or long fingers. Short fingers. Only.
I know allstar has a similar glove in their range but have not tried it. Chances are german fingers are longer than hungarian... ;-)
Note:
It's now been a little over two weeks since I first used it. I must have put pressure on a nerve in my finger as I still haven't regained my full sensitivity. So please take my advice on the fingers length seriously!
