JL Foil/Epee Mask
Actually, JL finally changed it\'s mesh to something a bit stronger...it actually resists the probe now. As an armorer, I no longer worry that the new JLs will fail the probe like the old ones used to.
In addition, they did away with the cheek plate that was always losing the extremely cheap rivets they used. Don\'t know if they\'ve done it on the sabre masks, but I hope so.
The mask is a LOT better now...but time will determine if the long-term quality has improved.

Cheap mask made my Jian-Li in China, distributed by The Fencing Post. Mine fits and looks great, but the materials are inferior. It will work great for awhile, but after this time (about a year or so), the mesh will have weakened to the point it fails punch tests, and the mesh will have become extremely flexible. An excellent mask to start out with, but I can\'t recommend it for prolonged use.
