Adidas Stabil 6
This is a great shoe to fence with especially considering its relatively low price tag compared to other fencing shoes. Although it is a squash shoe it can be used for any indoor court sports and fencing is no exception. It gives great traction and feels good. I did rub through the insole at my big toe and the ball of my foot after using them for 2 hours a day four days a week for about 7 months which sounds like a good deal of use to me.
Overall a very good shoe for its price.

I\'ve had a pair of Stabil 6 since September of last year. I find that the traction is excellent (my club\'s floor is slippery, and I rarely lose my footing during a lunge with these shoes), but I find them a little painful.
My club\'s floor is also hard (wood- but not over concrete). I took out the insoles that came with the shoes and replaced them with neoprene ones that were allegedly designed for athletics, and I still have occasional pain in the instep/ball of my foot (sometimes it\'s the front one, sometimes the rear, and sometimes both). I\'m not sure if this is due to the rigidity of the floors or the rigidity of the shoes- or just because my feet are wimpy.
The wear thus far has been good. I use them three times a week (plus any tournaments), and haven\'t noticed any significant loss of traction.
I\'ll probably buy another pair when these wear out, despite the occasional pain. I can\'t justify spending more on \"fencing specific shoes\" that other fencers seem to like less than the Stabils (and, like many of the others reviewing these shoes, I fence mostly epee).
By the way, the Adidas UK store site says that they have the Stabil 6 in blue/white stripes. I also saw them available in black/white stripes in the Lifestyle section of the Adidas (US) online store when I ordered my pair, at around $120, if I remember correctly. I\'ve seen other color combos (the white/blue stripes in particular), but they were women\'s shoes.

$90 is kinda expensive, but I figured they were worth it, since all the other epeeists were using them. They kinda dig in to my pinkie toe, on my front foot. The traction is great though, I feel like its almost fencing specific. The asics gel rockets were a little more comfortable and lighter, but the support and traction was not as good. I havent used it too much, so I\'ll post another review when I\'ve used it for a while.

These shoes are simply fantastic!! They have great support and give you great traction with the floor. The shoe is amazing for the epee bounce. If you do the epee bounce, these shoes are perfect for you. There even feel great fencing foil and sabre. The shoes are a steal (~$85-$90) compared to comparable fencing shoes.

I\'ve tried a few fencing shoes but all seem to have little room in the toe area, or they are just a bit too thin. These shoes have more room in the toes which is just great and they hug the inner part of the foot (instep?). This might be a disadvange though because at first they rubbed a bit in this area on my left foot, but after 3 weeks this stopped. They grip the floor very well and have great heal support. As with all shoes, they\'ll take 3-4 weeks to break in but I am very happy and recommend them highly.

I\'ve only used this shoe for about two weeks, but I plan to write another review after a few months of hard use. So far, I really like it.
Overall rating: I like the way it sticks to the ground. I don\'t feel like I\'m wasting energy when I move in this shoe. I also like the way the shoe is very firm, except for the felxible toe. The shoe is well padded, so I don\'t feel like I\'m fracturing my heel every time I lunge. One downside to the extra padding is that I don\'t feel the ground that much, but I\'ve never felt that this was exceedingly important in my fencing. Fencers will be happy to know that the heel of the shoe is a little rounded--not as much as a fencing shoe or a wrestling shoe, but enough that it makes a difference.
Value: $85 from Adidas online store. At the price of a regular running shoe, it\'s cheaper than most fencing shoes and fits the need on the strip.
Fit/Style: I like the style, but my only complaint is that it\'s a little on the lateral aspect of my right foot near my toes (I think my right foot may be bigger than my left). It feel like there\'s more room in the big toe than in the pinky toe area. If I could, I\'d give it 4.5 stars.
