The glove has good and bad points.

Good: It covers the entire forearm and the elbow

Arm, wrist, back of the hand and thumb, and elbow are lightly padded, well enough for good protection

The leather on the palm is doubled in wear spot

Bad: You can’t use with a padded sleeve…not really

The leather is a little slick for epee touches to stick

If you are giving lots of lessons (especially in epee) I’d go other, more traditional routes. I sporadically give foil and saber lessons with a Santelli half plastron and this glove. And it works well for me. I especially appreciate the elbow being covered. Epee wrist hits have a harder time sticking…the leather is a bit too smooth and hard. I suppose that it could be soften with some leather oils/conditioners but I haven’t tried. (btw asking the epeeist for a second hit to the bicep –bad idea)

I do like this glove, and not just for glove games;) With the plastron and glove I have sufficient protection to give lessons all day. And I still have room in my bag for my competitive gear.
