Summary: it works but not more

As with all Uhlmann bodycords, I have issues with the opaque insulation and with the clamshell cases. The white insulation makes locating breaks in the wire needlessly difficult. A bigger issue is the hard clamshell cases. While these give significant protection to the ends of the wire where it meets the pins, this is counterbalanced by additional wear and tear on the wires where they exit the clamshell. The clamshells are a pain to reassemble when repairs are being done.

I have used two of these body cords for three years without major problems. The pins are of good quality and show no corrosion. They have taken a beating in sabre. The only problems experienced are when the wire breaks at the stress points where the cord enters the plug.

I have a cheapo backup/loaner body cord that just rusts while sitting in by bag. I would rather take the time to repair my Uhlmans than use the cheapo when at competitions. Of course they rarely need repair!
