Summary: The Kia of saber blades.
July 11th, 2003
I should start this off by letting you know I am a bit biased. I tend to prefer the balance and feel of the V shaped blades but ended up using one of these for a while when I found one for a really good sale and could not pass it up.

The weapon is about the standard for its type. I found it to be a bit more rigid and less flexible than some of the other S2000 blades I have used recently.

As to its performance and feel, I found it to be a bit difficult to control. It is a heavier blade than I am used to and is a bit heavy in the tip to boot. As a result I sometimes found myself delivering fairly painful slaps when I was attempting a gentle whipover hit.

Once you learn the weight and feel of the weapon, and adjust to its stiffness it seems about the same as many of the generic budget saber blades on the market. It did hold up well in the time I used it, but rusted very easy.

I tend to think of this blade as the econo car of saber blades. It is cheap and fairly reliable without being pretty or appealing to the eye. And like the econo car if you try anything but the basics with it you might find its limits very quickly. It is not a bad blade and not a great one, but its performance seems to correspond to its price point. In that respect it is good to know that you will get what you paid for.
