Absolute Standard 3-W Washable Glove (XS ~ XL)
I've used this glove for close to two years now, so it actually has an excellent lifespan, especially for the price. It's got good padding on the back of the hand for epeeists, and it's fairly comfortable. Plus, you can just throw it in the washer.
However, that's all I can say in it's favor. This glove has caused me a lot of pain. The velcro gets pretty pathetic over time, eventually leaving a much larger opening at the wrist than is safe. I've had a foil blade go into this opening and gash my wrist, which was exceedingly painful, left a 4-inch scar, and now everyone thinks I'm emo. ;)
Within a month of that incident, I had an epee go into that same opening and gouge my hand, leaving another painful wound which is just now healing. So unless you want to replace the velcro manually every year or so, I wouldn't recommend this glove.
In addition, although the padding is thick and protective on the back of the hand, it's weak on the back of the fingers. I've also had some of the seams come apart, but was able to sew them back together.
It's also a little thick on the palm and front of the fingers. I just switched to a FWF glove and noticed a significant difference in the amount of control I have over my weapons.
Overall, it's not terrible, especially for beginners or people who are willing to do some sewing now and then to fix it up, and for the price it's pretting good. But I don't really like it now that I've tried something different.
