This blade was my third Leon-Paul blade and while all three has been durable under 3-4x/week of fencing, the Golubitsky also continues the tendency of Leon-Paul blades to not be forged in a straight fashion. Simple eye inspection down the blade reveals two separate curvatuers in OPPOSITE directions. I truly wish that the people at Leon-Paul fixes this forge issue and dedicate the same amount of craftsmanship to their blades as they do with their other equiptment.
From the outset, my should point out that I have used this blade for the past 2-3 months. The Golubitsky feels very similar in flex to my Vniti, though lighter which makes it an excellent alternative to Vniti's if you don't like the weight of the Vniti. Despite the curvatures in the blade, my Golubitsky has yet to crack though it is prone to more fixed bents with stiff touchs or with an aggressive pointe-en-line. This blade is weighted toward the forte decreases point drift and 'dance' but does render flicks more difficult to execute; note however that this also has forced me to decrease my servings of flicks, which in thi snew era of timings, has allowed me to become more classical in approach. Finally on the negative side, this blade is NOT cheap, and for the money, IMHO, you could do better($128 USD just the blade and point).
Now the positive... so far during its usage, it hasn't broke yet despite requiring regular re-bending with the foot. It is of good enough quality that I still keep it in my bag for back-up. Also, as pointed out above, my point control with this blade has allowed me to acclimate to today's fencing timings.
I hope my review helps!
