Jacket: Sydney Range FIE 800N

Product Details
This top of the range clothing is the most technically advanced in the world. Not only is it fully two way stretch (most others are one way stretch) , it is also the only fencing jacket in the world to contain a Transpoor® lining which uses high-tech hydrophobic fibres to actively wick moisture away from the skin. The finish is seccond to none with an ultra sleek pure white non piling surface.

Feels great and stretchy. The lining helps it dry out faster, and the anti-microbial silver compound lining helps keep it clean. Someone told me comparing an Olympia Jacket to a Sydney Leon Paul is only a price difference. But I'm glad I've changed into the Sydney, more comfortable and when dried, it doesn't harden like the Olympia or Startex. I've used both. The Leon Paul is certainly worth it's money. I recommend upgrading from old uniforms directly to the Sydney, rather than the Olympia, simply because it has more space than the Olympia and it stretches more in all directions.
The negative side to this jacket is tailoring. It cannot be tailored like the Olympia or Startex jacket because of it's sewing.

Simply put, this is the best jacket ever made! I have tried many jackets and none of them can compare to the overall design and quality of this jacket. Ever seem is finely stiched. The coolmax lining is amazing! The jacket stretches well for an FIE jacket and has a great cut (fits the more typical fencer build). The jacket fully dries within a couple hours (compared to overnight with other jackets). I can\'t recommend this jacket enough. It is a little more expensive than comparable jackets, but is well worth the extra money!

Let me begin by saying that I am still pretty new to the sport. In my short time, however, I have owned two jackets, an Uhlmann World Cup and more recently the Leon Paul Sydney 800N jacket.
Both are very good jackets, no question. However, I bought the same size and found the LP to be a bit roomier, which at this point was exactly what I needed. It fits beautifully and the stretch fabric of which it is completely constructed really stretches. I was a bit unsure about their claims about the wicking capabilities of the liner, but alas, her too, I was very pleased.
Every small detail has been through out in this jacket. the crotch strap is folded and sewn at the loose end to keep it from unraveling. There are nice stretchy gussets around the wrists, alowing it to fit more smoothly under the glove. the neck is nice and thick with a blade trap.
Long and short, I simply can't find anything even remotely wrong with this jacket. well, perhaps ONE small thing, but I think this is the same for all streytch jackets...I do feel hard hits a bit more than in a jacket constructed fomr stiffer fabric.
I'm a happy guy!!!
ps Service from LP USA was fantastic as well!
