Fencing terminology is, of course, extremely confusing.



Fencing as it is today has been influenced by Italian, French, English, Spanish, Hungarian, and German sources--a short list.



Any attempt at defining fencing terms is a frustrating and difficult task therefore. Maestro Gaugler has produced a very nice dictionary--one that is fairly comprehensive and informative while still very portable and light.



Well worth consulting for any serious fencer, competitor, teacher or coach.
