Summary: It's OK, but has issues
December 17th, 2009

I've used this glove for close to two years now, so it actually has an excellent lifespan, especially for the price. It's got good padding on the back of the hand for epeeists, and it's fairly comfortable. Plus, you can just throw it in the washer.

However, that's all I can say in it's favor. This glove has caused me a lot of pain. The velcro gets pretty pathetic over time, eventually leaving a much larger opening at the wrist than is safe. I've had a foil blade go into this opening and gash my wrist, which was exceedingly painful, left a 4-inch scar, and now everyone thinks I'm emo. ;)

Within a month of that incident, I had an epee go into that same opening and gouge my hand, leaving another painful wound which is just now healing. So unless you want to replace the velcro manually every year or so, I wouldn't recommend this glove.

In addition, although the padding is thick and protective on the back of the hand, it's weak on the back of the fingers. I've also had some of the seams come apart, but was able to sew them back together.

It's also a little thick on the palm and front of the fingers. I just switched to a FWF glove and noticed a significant difference in the amount of control I have over my weapons.

Overall, it's not terrible, especially for beginners or people who are willing to do some sewing now and then to fix it up, and for the price it's pretting good. But I don't really like it now that I've tried something different.

Summary: I like it
December 9th, 2008
It's a $10.00 glove, which is the best part.  Plus I find that it fits my hand really comfortably.  It is not very durable but when it dies you can just buy a new one, it is only $10.  I'd much rather spend the $30 or so on a weapon upgrade than a glove upgrade.

Summary: Best for the Money!
February 18th, 2006
This is the best value for the money that you can find in a fencing glove. You can really just toss it in the washer, just be sure to close the velcro so that it doesn\'t snag other things in the wash!

Summary: It fiiiiits!
January 18th, 2006
For $10, this is a great glove. It fits my hand (and *fingers*) extremely well. It is reinforced in all the right places (for a Visconti grip, at least), it is nice and soft on the inside, the padding on the back of the hand is substantial without being stiff or obtrusive, and it seems to be relatively well-made (I will update this review if it falls apart in a month). You cannot customize the fit over your jacket sleeve, as both strips of velcro (scratchy & soft) on the cuff are narrow. Half of the cuff is elastic, though, so you would probably have to have a really massive arm for it to be too small. The only other potential issue is the 1/2-inch or so of elastic that sticks up inside the glove on the palm side of the wrist. It has not bothered me yet, but I guess it might irritate some folks. It is only a $10 glove, after all.
