hmm...these were my first pair of fencing shoes. After about 5 months, there were two large holes (one on each foot). Also, the padding was horrible. Litterally, the sole (without the 1 mm thick "insole" provided by blue gauntlet) is HARD rubber, it almost feels like plywood. I ended up payiong $40 for insoles to make the shoe bearable.

I was given my first pair of these new by a student who bought himself a pair of Addidas. He was on his thir pair of the Addidas before I wore out the Vicoty shoes. I was wearing in the many local tournamnet and giving lessons and practicing in them three days a week. I was most impressed.
They tend to be a little long and I find that I definatly need insoles as they have no padding. I also wear a heel cup on the leading foot.
Over all they are an excellent buy for the price. And in my experience at least, they are very durable.
