negrini epee guard socket

i ordered one of these when i built a weapon and the vendor did not have any uhlmann ones. i have found that the body cords have a really tight fit that makes it hard to get them in and out. the other thing i noticed is that the reataining clip is a very thin piece of wire with a foam ball on. the first time i used this the wire was unable to fit over the side of the body cord and the foam ball tore off. i decided to give up on it for my weapons and installed it in the test box i made.

I know there isn't much to a socket, but I'll tell you the story of why I went searching for a better socket.
Most of my weapons have either an Uhlmann or LP socket. The old Uhlmann socket is great. I have no complaints. With the newer ones, my body cord gets stuck (Uhlmann body cord). The LP sockets are better for the body cords, but some body cords are loose in them and tht socket has a tendency to come loose. I won't use the Prieur because the plastic cracks and there is only the plastic retaining clip. Body cords tend to be loose in the PBT sockets as well.
Therefore, when I was ordering some parts from Negrini, I figured I'd try a couple sockets. They are great. My body cords are tight in the socket, but don't get stuck. In addition, they have a couple nice details. The primary one is the washers that the wires go under have a little piece of metal that keeps them from twisting when you tighten the screws. This means less chance of the washer grabbing and snapping the wire. I'm happy.
