This is a really Good Blade.
When you first get them they seem unbeleivably stiff but after you fence with them for a while they break in nicely and can flick with the best of 'em.
Few things tho...
Mine seem to get wierd bends in them.
They have a decent life span, far better then the prieur blades.
Are about medium in weight. I like these blades, they're one of my favorites.

Agree completely with MyraTrue on all points. For me, once this weapon had a bit of use, it "settled in" to being stiff in the Forte with moderate flexibility at the tip. It takes a curve with gratifying perfection. It's not a lightweight blade, but I found, suprisingly, that it was significantly lighter than the Non-FIE version using the Uhlmann "ultra" blade. It was my assumption that Maraging FIE blades were always a bit heavier than their non-FIE counterparts. Not so in this case. It is Not whippy like a Paul Etoile bladed practice weapon, and has predictable point movement and great balance... I find myself using it for practice rather than another weapon identical in every way except for the Uhlmann "ultra blade" that I had bought specifically for practicing...
I also have the Maraging "BF Blue" FIE version of this weapon and I assume it is the same except for the blue anti-corrosion finish...
I found my confidence boosted a notch or two when fencing with this weapon. Its not inexpensive by any means, but its cheaper than defeat :)

I've had mine for... maybe 9 months now, and despite being bold enough to LOAN it to some of the rougher fencers for tournaments, its survived without a fault. Only problems I've had are with the body wire, not the foil.
This one was a little stiff to begin with (but nothing like the old ram-rod FIE blades!) but softened up, and took a curve beautifully. I can't say how easy it is to flick- people who can flick seem to have no problem. I, myself, don't even try anymore.
For all that that foil has been through, its done well by me. I think it was well worth the price.
