Summary: This glove is GREAT!
November 20th, 2006
I originally bought this glove because it was the only glove in size small with long enough fingers for me. So it fits well.

I don\'t know what people are talking about in terms of quality problems--I haven\'t had any. In fact, I\'ve had this glove for a year and three months and I have no holes or wear spots. I fence for four hours six times a week, and I hand wash my glove every two weeks. If anything, this glove has proven better quality than other comparable glove. It only cost me $10 too.

Summary: All right, bit deceptive
June 2nd, 2006
This glove is pretty poor. It has lasted me a while, about 9 months of twice a week practice (but I have a different glove for competition) and it\\\'s just now starting to develop a hole.

They fit alright, maybe a hair too long in the fingertips and the look fine.

The best feature of this glove is a nice pad on the back that does a lot to absorb impact and a decent cuff that does the same.

I WARN YOU - Not *actually* washable, my first, and only, attempt at washing these was catastrophic, the whole palm and part of the back are a delicate shade of pink now (using cold water no less).

Summary: Worst I\'ve ever owned.
May 30th, 2006
I didn\'t like this glove, and I wouldn\'t recommend it to anyone, ever.

The fit and style of it were ok. I\'ve had better fit, the leather in the fingers and palm was fairly thick, and I prefer it to be thin. It looked all right, even though red isn\'t my favorite color.

Almost immediately (under a week) of fencing it developed a hole between the thumb and forefinger. The weird part is that it wasn\'t even where the prong of the visconti grip I was using made contact with it, it was slightly proximal. It quickly (within two months) developed another hole on the pad of my forefinger (which I can at least understand because that makes contact with the grip). During that time, the first hole kept getting bigger. I kept it for about three months, and at the end, some of the stitching was already giving way. At the end, the forefinger hole was about the size of a dime, and the hole by the base of the thumb was larger than a silver dollar.

I contacted Blade within the second week I had it asking about a refund or replacement. I never heard back.

Nice fitting glove. It has a good cuff that sticks close to the arm with velcro. It doesn't stiffen or wear too quickly. The only issue I've had is that the read dye has spread over parts of the white fingers... that crimps the style. If it wasn't for that I'd say the glove is a great value.

This glove holds up quite well two years and seams are looking great. Along with protecting the hand from a few foil points. Not to mention the good price i got it for. So thumbs up.

Summary: Good price, good quality
August 14th, 2003
While the glove I got was not exactly the same as the picture given on the website (all red w/ white cuff), the glove has more than served it's purpose. The glove fits great and is still in good condition after fencing with it 5 days a week for 5 months, plus 2 a week this summer. Seams are all in perfect condition, no holes, and still soft. At about half the price of an Uhlmann glove, this thing is a great value.

Edit: Since the other reviewer mentioned the fit in the thumb, I thought I should add a little bit about my hand. I would consider my thumb to be on the longer side. I wear a size 9 glove, and my thumb is about 3 inches measured from the bottom knuckle.

Summary: A good glove
July 24th, 2003
I had two of these gloves that lasted for three years. After taking up sabre they developed holes on thumb and index finger. I found their life span to be quite long considering how much they were being used and washed. I only had problems with the fit and seam on the thumb. The extra small was slightly too big for me. They also had a seam that ran across the face of the thumb. The seam never caused any sores or blisters.

I am using a different brand now because it has a better fit.
