Summary: Durable as heck
October 12th, 2009

Have used my first Vniti epee for several months now, both in tournaments and for lessons. It is amazingly flexible. Some extra-aggressive opponents have insisted on throwing themselves onto its point, and at first these demonstrations caused me to grimace, certain that I would find a kink in the blade. Nope. Still true. And lately a nice helpful curve is developing near the top.

I don't feel like my point control suffers from this blade, but I am not an expert fencer.

I recently bought my second Vniti and re-wired the first.

Also, the name is fun to say out loud. Vniti Vniti Vniti.

Summary: FIE Vniti
June 18th, 2009
I've had my Vniti since last October, and I absolutely love it. I was fencing a fairly basic Leon Paul epee previous to owning it, and I have to say i prefer the Vniti to my LP. The blade is very stiff compared to most other brands, which is exactly what I was looking for. The blade's heaviness is a downside for long bouts since your arm can get tired, but after a few club sessions adjusting to the weight, it never has been a factor. Also, I've had a few friends at club tell me that parrying my blade is a bit of a chore due to its mass and stiffness. This is a very heavy blade, so if you like your epees stiff and strong, this is the blade you want.

I have had my Veniti for about 3 months now, and I can tell you that I enjoy using it. It is very snappy (almost like a wet noodle), so only buy if you like to coupe and don't mind the decrease in point control. Blade is heavier then most, but not by to much. Come in a nice black color and seems durable (I have never put an unwanted bend in it after 3 months of competition). I would recomend for someone looking for this specific style.

i have had 2 these blades for about three months now and so far they have worked out very nice. these blades do weigh slightly more than some of the other blades that i have used but they are still very well balanced. these blades also hold there shape very well even after hard hits.

Summary: Vniti
December 18th, 2008

I just got my Vniti and I'm very pleased with it. My only complaint whatsoever is that when it arrived we had to rewire it because it hadn't been glued down right.

Ok, so I've had my Vniti for a while now. I still love it. I have picked up a second one, too. I don't use brute strength when I fence (I rely more on point control, cunning, and speed) and I LOVE it. I keep my hand pretty relaxed except for when I'm flicking, so I haven't had and problems with point control. I'm also glad I have them, because I like to fleche. The Vnitis haven't taken any unwanted bends from this, which is really cool. They will take the bend I want when I bend them by hand, though. I've seen someone put an aweful bend in a FIE blade that made me cringe, by doing the same thing that I've done with my Vniti and my weapon didn't show any signs of it.

These blades are amazing.

first off must say that i was thoroughly impressed with the quality of these blades. i got mine awhile ago and after heavy use it has held up nicely. it flicks very well and as said before has very great balance. first time i used mine i was able to adjust to it from LP reaction blades and earned my C in epee after just assembling it. as i am pretty strong person couldnt notice the difference in weight but could in weight distribution. buy one or try one and u will see just how great these are.

I actually like the heaviness of this blade, it has a really nice balance that gives you a very precise feel in the point. I'd recommend a lightweight guard, however, if you want to compensate for the weight.

These things are also tough... really really tough. I've put mine through alot and it is still in perfect shape.

The black finish looks pretty snazzy as well.

I bought this blade at the NAC when it came to town, and it was my instant favorite. It is heavier, and does require some hand strength, (but is a good strength conditioner, making your other blades faster). This blade also has a nice "limpness" to it which makes flicks relatively easier. It has an excellent durability, and does not accumulate funny bends easily. A girl at my club fleched into me, and I thought it got a funny bend about half-way down. I ran it under my foot and it accumulate into a nice arc. The prices online are a bit high, so I reccomend buying them in person, because you might want to check the weight before you buy.

(Edit- June 21st '07)

Been fencing with mine since November. The only real trouble I've had with this blade is with the wiring and the tip, not about the blade itself. However, my fencing style has changed substantially, and I use different bladework. I find that the point often misses because of the extreme whipiness of this epee.

When I take a sweep to 6, or a circle 6, there is always point lag, and I always end up missing right outside of their arm. This doesn't happen with my BF. This blade is a good one, just not the right one for me. If you're considering buying this blade, analyze you fencing style. If you use alot of parries and beats, I would consider something stiffer.

Summary: Great Blades
April 1st, 2006
First of all, I am only 14 years old and have been fencing for six years, the past two with vniti blades. When I first bought one of these, I found it too heavy as some other reviewers have said. After the first year with it, I had developed more hand strength and had reasonable control. Since then, I have bought two more and had the first one break, unfortunately by my friend borrowing it. Now being 14 I definitely have full control of these slightly heavier blades. I do believe that if you are an adult who is a few years down the road or has a lot of experience, you should be able to handle the weight of these blades. They truely don\'t slow down you point control as the weight is closer to the guard. I find myself flicking very easily with them and can menuver them to prime with ease.

All in all these are durable, flexible blades which actually use weight to an advantage.

I recently bought one of this from absolute. and geez this thing is really flexible. and it doesnt tend to develop s bend and sharp bend.

as others have mention, this thing is a little heavier than average. I have used BG blue and STM maraging, both quite stiff blade, and have good feel of the tip. but when using this Viniti blade, I always feel that the tip is flying around, this is why I only give a 4.

Never breaks, I don't notice the weight, but wire these yourself and clean the grove first. I have almost never had a company wire one successfully.

A tad on the heavy side... but, disturbingly flexible. It doesn't take to bends very easily and I've yet to break one in over a year and a half of heavy fencing.

aight guys and gals.. i love these blades, i started my fencing career w/ the flicks and my favorite blades are those of my friend.. he has the old france lames FIEs.. i thnkk 94 adn 96... they are crazy whippy and by whippy i mean flicky so i love the crazy flexible blades and as every1 else has said these are heavier but they are also well balanced.. if u love flicks ull want these, but its better to hand test them if at all possible so u can get the best one.. i mean.. for instance my primary vniti(i have 2 and an old francelames non fie) if u were allowed to cut the blade up ... shape it like a foil and put a foil gaurd on it... it would hang up there in flickiness with the leon paul fies and hte lamets... i love vnitis and u should too...lol

I think it is a very good blade. It is a tad heavy, but overall it isnt bad. For an epee, it has a lot of movement, which is great for little flicks to the hand, but it isnt wobbling all over the place when you move it either. I personally like it more than my vniti foils.

Lets get this out of the way. This is a heavy blade. Now having said that lets keep in mind we are talking a few grams here and not a few pounds. It is probably the heaviest blade I have ever used but since the wieght is towards the hand the blade is very well balanced.

The blade has been very durable. I use it for drills, target practice and giving lessons and as a loaner/backup for tourneys. It has taken a great deal of use and a little abuse in the 8 months or so it has been with me. It seems to be much more durable and less prone to bend, dent or nick than any of my other blades.

It is also the most flexable blade I have. It flicks very well, almost to well for me as it can be a bit wobbly after a hard beat. Vinti blades come with a wide range of flexability so make sure you ask for what you like or it can be a crap shoot.

While I will not say these are greatest blades by far I think they are awesome for club use and as a realiabel back up blade that will last a very long time.

The blade pictured is a bit different from the vniti maraging epee I have. But like this one mine is much heavier than any of the other epees I have ever had. Enough so that it slows your hand down when fencing with it. I would not reccomend it for the average fencer.

Summary: its heavy & strong...
July 17th, 2003
Personally I don't like the one I bought. It is very stiff though, and weighs a good 30+ grams more(about 195 g. vs ~160) than the three other assorted blades I had to compare it with. Most of this weight is in the forte, so it does balance well. If you like to play epee with brute strength and force, and have a strong hand, this is the tool for you!
