I've seen a lot of coach plastrons over the years. I really like this vest.
This vest is attractive and indestructable. It's not ultra-heavy or all-covering -- you won't walk like a heavily armored robot with this thing on, and you won't need to remove it between lessons to stave off heatstroke. And yet, it is everything you need to be able to give foil lessons (and, with the optional padded arm, it's good for Sabre/Epee lessons). I've been giving lessons with one for many years, and it still feels like new. It also looks stylish.
Cons: The shoulders aren't padded to receive flicks. It comes with a small plastic zipper on the back which will soon need replacement. One star off for the bruising and the sewing.
