Vniti Maraging Foil Blade

This blade is heavy at the forte and has medium flex at the foible. Starts out a little stiff, but works in very nicely. You can use it for a good flicking game and also have rock-solid parries that don't get your point moving all over the place.
This blade shifts the balance point towards the bell, so if you're used to a "superlight" blade, it will take a little getting used to.

Vnitis are the Toyota Camry of fencing blades. They're not that expensive, perform well, and last forever. There are better and cheaper blades, but Vnitis are really the best blade if you're looking for an all-in-one type of package.
Vnitis are good for people on budgets or beginners who want a blade that will last. Just know what you're getting into when buying one and you should be happy. They don't handle the same as something like a BF White.

I hesitated to review the Vniti as most probably know its merits. Most probably also know that while durable, Vnitis are on the heavy side. I am merely chiming in to say that while the blade is stiff, I've never had a blade take a more textbook-beautiful curve. This took a little bit of time to work in but not too long. Also, one can make the blade feel a bit lighter. I choose a light bellguard and a small belgian grip to make the feel of the blade only marginally heavier than a Fleche non-FIE blade. While I do prefer a lighter blade, I can't help but give kudos to the Vniti for doing nearly everything I ask in a fencing weapon.
I should note that I use the MAX version which gives me the kind of point control I prefer.
I would rate this at 4.5/5 stars if I could.

This is an excellent blade. It has performed very well for me; I ordered three from Fencing.net's store about 8 months ago, and use all three in random rotation once a week, but that single day is very heavy usage, for what that's worth.
The blades are simply great. They work in very nicely, as others have alluded to, but even "out of the box" control was superb. They do not take bends easily. ONE kink happened two me ONCE about 7 months in, and was remedied in about 5 seconds, with no further problems since.
To me, the blade has the exact right balance and weight. Many have remarked the blades being heavy, but I don't think they're any better or worse than any others I've used. In fact, they are very similar to the standard BG blade. However, I took Craig up on the offer of free titanium alloy bell guards for the foils, so their lightness may be making up for something; it's impossible for me to be sure now, as I am full attuned to them.
Excellent blade, highly recommended.

It's not for me though, it's a bit light compared to the BF blades, and bends too much as if it's a pure flicking weapon. However, to each fencer his/her own taste, style, and strength.
I happen to have a bit of muscle so I find the Vniti to be a bit light, but it depends on each fencer.

first weapon that was entirely mine. no hand me downs or anything. i set it up w/ a german v2 tip, vniti 10cm guard, german two prong socket, uhl. felt bad, and a sm. uhl. ital. visconti grip.
the setup i had for this blade worked great. for a brand new blade, it was pretty soft already, but it was balanced well and could take all the hard hits i dished out, and straighten out w/o too much of a fuss. after breaking it in a bit i managed to give it a nice bend/curve what have you and it turned into a great flicking blade and had strong beats and parries, and for awhile it was easily the best blade i had in my bag.
it's still going strong today, but lately has been left in my bag more often than out. it's always been on the heavy side, but until recently it hasn't bothered me so much. now the blade has become softer and whippy and i find that the tip is always lagging behind the rest of the weapon. i think the balance has shifted w/ the softness of the blade and the tip is so heavy that it falls behind.
i have a harder time now keeping my attacks and repostes consistant. but it still gets the job done. i do still however enjoy the occasional attacks that can wrap around a parry and still land on target.
i still keep this weapon in my bag though as one of my main weapons. depending on the game i want to play and who i am fencing i will take this out b/c i still know how this blade is going to play. it's still a great blade, i just am moving my fencing to a different game than flicking. but even for a flicking match, i wish this blade could be a bit lighter.
overall, this is a good blade. industructable, soft, generally balanced well, and great for flicking. however it's heavy, and can become unpredictable. i've been told the vniti max is out which is the stiff vniti version. so if you're looking into this blade, but want a straight on blade, u may want to take a look at that otherwise this is a great soft blade.

As has been said, the blade is heavy, but if you get the right set of guard/grip the weight should not be a problem. The biggest problem I have with the Vniti is that the end of the blade is very wobbly; and only the end. I'd prefer a stiffer blade. I just don’t get the right sense of balance if my tip is wobbling all over the place. However, I have to admit; every time I fence with it I like it a little more.
Also, it’s impossible to put a bend in this blade. I normally like my blades bent just a little, but I can’t get the Vniti to bend at all. It’s a mixed bag, because this means no kinks will form.

*The variance from blade-to-blade allows some batches to be more flick-friendly than others, while other batches make flicking hazardous to your wrist presuming you're not a spinach guzzling sailor.
*Not the most expensive FIE maraging that can be bought, so is a good investment overall for a beginner who knows they will be sticking with foil for the long-haul.
*Summary: My backup, not my primary weapon of choice.

It is however slightly over rated. It's not a holy, miracle blade like everyone hype it up to be. The blade you pick is up to PERSONAL preference. I do highly recommend people to give it a try and see if it fits their preference.

I bought it expecting it to be nice a stiff, which I prefer. However, it’s not all that stiff and even a bit on the whippy side, but I might have just gotten a whippier one (ordered online so I couldn’t sample it).
The balance isn't too great either, so it feels 'jiggly'. But then again this is compared to a BF blade--a good $50 more.
Overall, its a good blade with a nice price, but if you can spare the cash, go for the high end.
