Fleche practice epee blade

As far as the mid line blades go, I tend to think the Fleche line is a good deal, and this blade is a good representation of why this is true.



The blade has and average weight and good balance. The blade is flexible without being whippy but it tends to bend over its entire length instead of just near the foible.



The finish of the blade is decent, but it will rust very easy and discolor over time even if it is just in a weapons locker. The blade shape and feel is very similar to some of the SM non-FIE blades I have seen although the fit and finish does not seem to be up to the standard of the SM blades that Uhlmann sells.



All things being equal, this is a good blade for beginners and casual fencers. I prefer the colored SM and BF blades for non-FIE weapons, but if you are looking to pinch pennies or just need a backup or a target weapon, these blades should serve you well.
