Seth Kelsey, Emily Cross and Keeth Smart each won gold medals in their events at the Pan American Championships.  The wins earn the US team members points to be used in the seeding of the Olympic competitions this August in Beijing.

Keeth Smart, ranked 5th in the world, defended his Pan Am title against team member Tim Morehouse. James Williams took 3rd and Jason Rogers 9th.

In the Men's Epee event, Seth Kelsey held Limardo (VEN) at bay and scored the winning touch in overtime to take the title 6-5.

Emily Cross won decisively in women's foil 15-10 over Gonzalez (VEN). On her way to the finals Cross also defeated teammate Doris Willette who took 3rd.

These wins were important for seeding into the individual competitions of the Olympic Games.

Tomorrow features Men's Foil and Women's Sabre with team events to follow later in the week.
