News flash from Athens: Soren Thompson has reached the top 8 in the individual men's epee competition!.
Thompson stages a huge upset of Alexander Rota of Italy, the #2 seed in the competition, 15-13! He stands poised to fight for a spot in the medal rounds against 2000 Olympic gold medallist, Pavel Kolobkov of Russia.
