Janice Lee Romary six time Olympian in women's foil fencing and first woman to carry the US flag in the Opening Ceremonies in 1968 passed away this afternoon in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

She competed as a fencer in six consecutive Olympics from 1948 through 1968.  She continued her service long after her competitive career ended, serving as commissioner of fencing for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Member of US Olympic Fencing Team: 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968
4th at 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games
Opening Ceremonies, 1968 Olympic Games, 1st Woman to carry the USA Flag for the US Olympic Team
10 Time NATIONAL WOMEN'S FOIL CHAMPION:
1950, 1951, 1956, 1957, 1960, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968
Represented Faulkner Fencing, LA Fencing Academy, Joseph Vince Fencing
