The Other Side of the Fence By Caitlin McKimmy I first began to learn the art of modern sword fighting when I was 10 years old. I was attracted to the idea of fencing more by the prospect of being able to poke people with a long metal object than anything else. I grew to love the eccentricity of this sport, where everyone wears white clothing, long socks and a disconcerting black metal face cover.
