As you can see, 2 zipties, one large purple rubbah band, and a plastic cap force-fitted onto the end of the carbon fiber tubing and a hole put in the middle for the foil blade, this keeps the tubing end (carbon fiber is tough and can be abrasive) from making a funny ring on the bellguard. Cost of materials, maybe $15 or so, being able to carry my foil hopefully somewhat inoffensively on the train, hopefully priceless!
