This is a piece of carbon fiber tubing I had lying around, cut so it's an inch or so longer than the foil, then fitted with a plastic cap so the end of the carbon fiber doesn't make a ring on the foil's bellguard, and a large rubber band to hold the guard on the foil.
Egads! A French grip! Eeeeeew. Nifty blade cover though!

I prefer an italian. And it looks a lot cooler when you carry it around. At least I've noticed mine gets more attention then when i carried a french. The chicks dig a man with an italian grip. ;-) Well... a few of them seem to, anyways...
