My favorite hunting is for grouse with my dog. There's something special about hunting with your dog.... This was in the coastal mountains in October/ November. The river froze the second night. We slept in a unheated van in -30 C/ -45C. It was cozy, but you can't expose your skin to that kind of cold. Especially on the ATV's. I lived in my parka and my long johns... Mon June 27, 2005 6:21am Agreed! I love it! Mon August 1, 2005 12:05pm Yeeeaaa! I love winter camping!! When I do it in the summer, the bugs and bloodsuckers are insane! The BEST winter camping I've ever done was a couple of years ago in the Pemberton mountains with OutwardBound and a bunch of other deaf kids. We hiked in snowshoes carrying large packs, it rrrrruled. It's a Mossberg from the 50's. I like it, it has a soft trigger and a variety of sights to use. A good size for grouse.
