Fishing at Fish Lake

Photo Details
Poster: Fencergrl  (see this users gallery)

Fish Lake is one of our favourite place to camp and fish. The mountains you see are the backside of the Coastal mountains. Whistler (where the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held) is in this mountain range.

Usually we have the whole place to ourselves. As it is hard to get to and cold at night even in August (we've even have had a bit of snow as it's in the mountains). Despite this, we've gone year after year as it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to.

The lake is stocked so almost every cast lands a 16-20" rainbow trout (the record is 6 fish in a row) and you can catch fish anytime of the day.

In a few years, we'll have to find another favourite place as they will be using this lake for tailings for one of the largest copper & gold strip mines in the world, and it will be nothing but a pile of gravel.

It's always sad when something pristine and beautiful gets ruined like that. It's a real shame.
