"And if I refuse?" She raised an angry brow. A challenge.

    One more word: "Alright."

And with a sharp roundabout, he left the room.

Willow was outside the door listening....

She gently called through the door, "Nękos, welcome to the family! Good luck dealing with her when she gets like this!"

"So THERE!" Moon yelled from where she stood, then tromped over to slam the door shut behind him. Satisfied, she returned to her desk, for her first taste of "aloneness" in a long time.

Nękos, however, was met with an entire group who stood in the hall, gazing at him expectantly.

    "Well?" Meekal asked.

"Stay close by the door," Nękos replied. He pulled a small timepiece out of his pocket. "I give her thirty seconds."

Time ticked slowly by. Moon glanced at the door & frowned. She was sure someone, anyone, would be back in by then.

    20 seconds...

She tried to ignore it. Yet she felt it too strong.

    10 seconds...

Finally, she had enough. She stood up.

And shouted, "I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE! GO AWAY!"

Willow and Ken-Dall looked at each other....they lasted all of about 5 seconds and then they burst out laughing. From the crook of Willow's arms, Daphne started giggling.

After finally controlling their laughter....Ken-Dall and Willow playfully started asking those around them if they wanted to bet on who the winner was going to be in this fight. Hmmmm, the odds seemed to be in favor of Moon. Imagine that.....

"Okay," Nękos replied through the door. Motioning to Meekal to follow, he walked off down the corridor.

"But..." Meekal followed, pointing behind him. "What about...?" They rounded a corner, Nękos still charging ahead, until Meekal said, "Stop!" He did, & simply looked at the new Muuvian King. "Is that it? She doesn't want to marry me & that's that? Now what?"

"We're playing a game here, Meekal. And you and I will win, because you and I have stable hormonal patterns. Now what? Now we wait right here. I give her another minute now."

Moon did, indeed, leave the room, the audience watching. For a moment, Ken-Dall was disappointed in her sister as she walked toward where the men had gone. She never knew Buffy to crawl back to anyone. "I'm going to follow them," she whispered.

Nękos & Meekal stood there, waiting. Sure enough, Moon appeared. Nękos looked to Meekal, who grinned. But she walked right by them both, as though they were invisible, then entered another door, slamming it shut. The privy (yeah, indoor privy!).

"You really underestimate her," Ken-Dall said laughingly.

Nękos shrugged, then looked to Meekal. "Trust me." Returning back up the stairs to Moon's room, Nękos removed a dagger, then imbedded it firmly, point first, in her desk. "My calling card. Come with me now. She cannot be won over by force."

    "Where are we going?"

"Back to my cottage. She'll know my calling card."

Of course, Moon was seething when she returned from the privy to find a dagger in her desk. After all, that was HER DESK. "Men are impossible," she muttered.

"You don't plan to go down there, do you?" Ken-Dall asked. As much fun as the show had become, the others dispersed to take care of their preparations & other chores. Ken-Dall, having nothing better to do, decided to stay.

"Just to return this...maybe into his eye for ruining my desk," Moon returned, grasping the weapon in both hands & yanking it from the wood. "I won't be long. And no, I'm not marrying Meekal." She nodded to her sister, & stalked her way down the castle stairs & out onto the grounds. It was not long before she found herself pounding on the door of a certain cottage in the woods.

Nękos answered the door, & said politely, "May I help you?"

The girl who stood on his threshold, dagger before her, growled, "You stuck a dagger in my desk. I would like to return it & ask that in the future you refrain from destroying MY DESK!"

He took the dagger back from her, calmly sheathing it. "Well ma'am, if I see anybody I suspect of being the perpetrator, I will be happy to yell at him for you. In the meantime" - he grabbed her by the collar and yanked her inside, shutting the door behind - "there's somebody you owe an apology to."

Meekal was sitting, hunched over, in one of the chairs near the cold fireplace. Senyik and Darion were across from him, Tębryn standing in the middle.

For a split second, her resolve began to shatter. Then, the realization that she was lured there, dragged inside & that Nękos blocked the door strengthened it again. She closed her eyes & clenched her jaw. "Fine. Meekal, I'm sorry." Then, she added, "I...still...refuse."

Tębryn moved the rest of the way across the room, sitting next to Meekal. She had Nękos beat by one - she had a way with no words. All she did was take one of Meekal's hands, and look accusingly up at Moonitic.

She opened her eyes to see how Tębryn looked at her. "What?" she asked, unmoving. She glanced at those who surrounded her, except for Nękos. "I see what this is all about. The answer is still no." She folded her arms across her chest.

"But, why not?" Tębryn asked. "He's sweet."
