Blue-Gauntlet dilemma

I recently read somewhere that BG has some very, very squishy foils, but I was wondering exactly how squishy compared to other brands...could anyone recommend me some good brands?
I have a very crooked blade after my first bout with the new blade. Very dissapointing.
I was also wondering about jacket sizes, of course pertaining to BG. Would a men's 40 be bigger than a women's 40? This is excluding the chest which would be cut bigger for the women's. Do the sizes just depend on brands?

Vniti is my favorite brand, followed by the BF. I cannot seem to kill my Vnitis no matter how much effort I put into it, and they are cheaper to boot. They are heavy however and that is where the BF blades come in for me. They are a good combination of lightweight and durability and they have a great balance and feel in the hand.

Jackets depend a great deal on size. As for the house brand of BG I have not noticed much of a difference in the chest size for men and women but the waist is tapered more in the women’s jacket. I actually have a couple of club members (male) that wear the women’s jackets as they fit them better. As to premium brands All-star runs small and is cut for the skinny guy who does marathons. Uhlmann is a better fit for the average middle age American male.

I would avoid BG body cords like they were covered in anthrax spores and stick with either Uhlmann or prieur if you prefer the no clip style. To get an idea of vendors and equipment I would suggest you check out the product reviews section of this page.

Good luck.
