He's a good guy - I used to fence with him at MTK in Budapest.
Is he living in the US now, or was he just visiting? Not too short, dark hair, about 25. I think he's here for about 6 months or so and then goes back. And then comes back and so on.
He's from Hungary. Fairly good fencer. Lost to him 15-14 in November (a decidedly weak referee), defeated him 15-13 in February (a better skilled referee). Still, he had me work for the touches. I think I've figured him out for a few touches. He's got a great attack into prep mixed into a strong parry (but not always a riposte) system. -

Don't even start another debate about the rating system -- it is what it is, and as a competition organizer, it is a relatively easy way to quickly organize the start of the tournament by it.
I am certainly not a fan of the current rating system, and would like to see it changed into something more meaningful, but the Benefit/Cost ratio doesn't make it practical (my pragmatism wins out over my concerns of the inherent logic of the rating system); bottom line: it helps to seed the competition, and it is only by that day's pool rounds which is what seeds the DE's anyway -- though it is imperfect, hey, on any given day, it will always be the luck of the draw that you have to work with.
