    TargetSpeed Training System

Has anyone had any experience with the TargetSpeed system? If so, does it help and is it worth the price?

(I did a forum search for this and didn't find any treads, perhaps if it was discussed before, someone can point me in the right direction.)

    Thanks!

I've seen it at a club in Rhode Island, (the 4-target version), but it seems a bit excessive in price. I think I could throw a single togeather for about $50, and have actually thought about it. All you have to do is have something like a 555 timer sending out a pulse every .1ms or so and a counter and a switch. If you can't find anything online, I think I could whip up a schematic, if you want.

We've got a 4 target one at our club here in NC. It works well for what it's designed for. Has a bunch of different speeds and options. Reads on target and off targets. Gives percentage hits, best time, avg time, etc. at the end. Did you have any specific questions about it?

Use one of the four target at a club in DC area. It was really nice. Very functinal, and with the reporting it really helped to point out to you what the issue was, speed, or inaccuracy. If you're looking at it for a large club, then by all means yes! If it's for you personally, you may not get enough use out of it to make it worth the price.

Just wondering if you have found it to help improve certain aspects of your blade-work while actually bouting?

in terms of accuracy and speed yes it will help. You're reacting to a light that goes off in differnt locations at random times. It speeds up your attack and or lunge by getting you to react to the stimulus. Plus you get the informational feed back at the end of the session (avg, best, etc). Like Carl said if you've got a large club it's good (especially if you have a lot of children!) If it's just you I don't know if you'll get the use out of it. Not to mention it isn't cheap.
