    "where are we headed?"

Bianca shrugged, & giggled at Dave. "I missed the 'other' quests. Where are we supposed to go? Anyone? Anyone?"

"Well, Nate just got his golden bush - my, that sounds wrong - but doesn't know what to do with it; I suppose we'll have to ask Spork. Quira has to collect Rufus the Stone, I still have to show you how to love, Kamry's got to get my image through a mirror without falling in love with him, and now this creepy chick has to go with us, and we don't know why."

Bianca raised an eyebrow at him. "All you have to do is show me how to love? Who thinks up these things??" Of all the other quests, she just had to think THAT one was the most odd. "Weird...just plain weird..." she muttered & began to walk, though she had no idea where she was going.

"Now it's time to find the right way to the forest," Quira decided. She pulled a compass out of her pocket, closed her eyes, and threw it as hard as she could. Amazingly, it broke all laws of physics and flew to her left, landing with a wet splat in a nearby thicket. Quira retrieved it and gestured for the others to follow her. "It's that way."

"How are we going to find this place with a compass that doesn't point north?" Kamry demanded of the group.

Quira, who had missed out on the Pirates of the Carribean movie by being stuck in the Land of Chaos, looked at her in confusion. "It doesn't point anywhere." She showed her the face of the compass, which was indeed devoid of any defining hands. "Thank Emeril for the little magical things."

"BAM!" came the booming voice out of nowhere.

Quira swore loudly as three figures leapt out behind a nearby bush.

"Will you three ever Shut up?" A voice came from behind the group.

"Hey, we're just trying to make a living." One of them replied.

"Well it didn't work in your world, why should it work in ours?" Belladonna snapped.

She then turned to the rest of the group.

"Honestly, after helping bring you three in," she nodded to the humans, "and all for helping you," she looked to Quira. "You'd think I'd get a little more respect than being left behind." She grumbled.

"Oh, and Quira, you've been to the Forest of Gebralter on many ocations. You'd think you'd know the way by now." She rolled her eyes. "Let's go."

"Where are you going?" Quira asked.

"I'm going with you." Belladonna replied.

    "Why?" Quira asked.

"Do you always ask this many questions? I'm going with you for reasons of my own. Now let's go, we're waisting daylight and I hate that forest at night."

"I kinda like it," Bianca mused to no one in particular. "I prefer the forest to the city. Besides..." She giggled. "...it's incredibly romantic."

"Surely you know as well as I do that the forest changes positions weekly, Bell," Quira said at her most innocent, not looking at the spirte as she led the way past the Beastie Boys, all of whom shot her dirty looks (she had refused to buy their CDs, even at a discounted price) and went back to writing inane songs that very few people could understand but generally liked anyway. "The compass, as you know, helps us find the way to wherever we decide to go."

They walked for over an hour, chattering mindlessly between themselves as they followed the throwing compass, Quira always leading the way. The fields were sparse, whatever grass present blue. It was as though somebody had taken a coloured lens and placed it over the sun, skewing all of the colours about. Farther into the field, green became blue, red became purple. Up ahead, the group could see a line of trees marking the edge of a forest.

"Ah, the Forest of Gibralter," Quira said at her most obvious, indicating the trees.

"In, would you believe it, the same place it was last week," Belladonna felt the need to point out.

The others had a completely different reaction. "Why," !Dave voiced for the group, "is it pink?"

Shirada trailed behind the group most of the way. There were two reasons for this, she wasn't all that aquainted with them, and sun light did drain her... so she decided that travelling with them and following were pretty close. In anycase, she would catch up at night, no doubt about that.
She sighed when she saw that the forest was pink. She didn't care overly much for pink, and a forest composed completely of it wasn't to her liking. Not to mention one of the "sprites" did seem to just "Looove" it. This would turn out to be a pretty intersting journey, of this she was sure.

"I love it when I'm right." Belladonna grinned to herself at knowing where the forest was.

"Because pink is so happy." Bianca replied, looping her arm through Dave's.

"Pink is the fartest thing from happy." Belladonna replied, cringing at the forest.

"It's pink because it changes colors." Belladonna replied to !Dave's question.

    "What?" !Dave asked.

"Look Dave, are you . ." She looked to !Dave, then to Dave, and slowly back to !Dave again. She then proceeded to groan.

"Not another mirror quest." She sighed unhappily.

"Isn't it Lovely?" Kamry asked sarcasticly.

    "Peachy." Belladonna replied.

"No, not peachy. Pink. Very pink." Kamry culdn't get over the intene PINK-ness of the trees (including the trunks!), bushes, flowers, rocks, lichen, moss, and spiderwebs.

Then, as the group watched in amazement, the PINK color started to shimmer and ripple. The pink started to get a little yellower, then a little orange mixed in, and quite suddenly, the forest in front of them became the color of a newly-ripened peach.

"Ok, so I was wrong. Peach."

"So we're going through the forest to where...?" Nate asked as they continued walking, almost straight through the barrier of very peach trees.

"We might stop at the Local Motel 5.9 if we haven't passed that up completely by nightfall, and tomorrow we should hit the Living Waters of Boola-Boola. To safely cross those, we have to rap the theme song of 'Fresh Prince of Bel-air' while doing the hokey-pokey." Quira rollled her eyes at the odd looks she was received. "C'mon, guys, it was a joke."

"The rapping or the hokey-pokey?" !Dave asked slowly.

"The rapping. To cross the Living Waters, we just need to find a captain crazy enough to take us."

Kamry raised an eyebrow. "And I take it Jack Sparrow never ended up here?" Her look told everyone that she was hopeful that this was not the case.

"No, but a bunch of his merchandise did." Before anybody could react, Quira lifted up her tunic. Before anybody could shield eyes away from what would be blindingly white skin, they all saw the black T-shirt that bore a picture of Jack Sparrow himself. Several people blinked at Quira for quite awhile and she gave them a perverse look. “I was just showing you a bloody T-shirt. You all look like I flashed you or something.”

“For a second there, we thought you had,” Nate pointed out, his accent intensifying a bit.

“Sickos.” Quira stalked ahead and had soon disappeared from sight.

“Shouldn’t we keep up with her? Since she, you know, has the compass and all?” Dave asked, looking at his companions.

Belladonna looked affronted at this suggestion. “I can guide the way just as well!”

They walked in silence for several minutes until Nate finally voiced, “Who comes up with these names? The Living Waters of Boola-Boola?”

“That’s what it’s all about,” Dave said solemnly.

Quira chose that moment to reappear, coming out of the bushes as she had on their first meeting. In her arms were several strange looking devices. Her eyes were glittering in a slightly homicidal amusement. Beaming widely, she dropped the armload onto the ground and asked, “Weapons grow on trees here, isn’t it great? I’ve already called a lightsaber, but I’ve got blasters, phasers, and a picture of Anna Nicole Smith guaranteed to scare off any foe left.”

With an air of superiority, Bianca drew herself up to full human height & said, "Some of us don't need to go pick weapons off of trees." As the others looked to her with questioning eyes, she smiled & snapped her fingers. Instantly, a wickedly sharp rapier (hee hee) appeared in her hand, deliciously gleaming from swept hilt to point. "My weapon of choice," she said proudly. "Ain't she pretty?"

Kamry scoffed at the sword, though she admitted, very quietly to herself, that it was beautiful.

"No thanks, I'll take the blaster that can reduce your sword to a pile of metal dust." She stooped down and picked up the gun. It was heavy, but not overly so. If she could find some sort of strap, it wouldn't be difficult to carry.

Dave's eye's glittered, as did Nathan's, and even !Dave's. Image or no, male is male, and weapons are weapons. Even when they grow on trees.

"That's not Anna Nicole Smith!" Nathan yelled. "That's Anna Kournikova!" He and Dave dove for it at the same instant, !Dave a second behind, figuring it was probably the right thing to do. Nathan came out on top with the picture, but Dave came out with a very odd-looking device. "What the heck is this?" he asked Quira.

"It's a phaster. Sometimes the blaster trees get cross-pollinated with the phaser trees, and you get phaster. Some biologists in town were experimenting with all three trees, and got a phight-laster. Unfortunately, it usually stops working after somebody wins or loses.

Bianca tossed the rapier into the air & snapped her fingers again. It disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Dave raised an eyebrow at her. "Aren't you going to carry that?"

For a moment she faltered, at a loss. Proud as she was of her beautiful weapon, she knew she could not bring herself to use it if the need arose. "Only as a last resort," she stated quietly. Only he knew of her terrible secret, & she wanted to keep it that way. Belladonna would never let her hear the end of it if she found out.

Moving along: I really like some of the characters in the story, but as you can see, we've quite stalled. I think part of the problem, at least for me, is that I'm not so good with a plot line this...silly. I've nothing against it, I just have a much harder time working on it. Would anybody care to try restarting this, but a bit more seriously? Or, should we perhaps try just skipping straight ahead to some action or something, since we're a bit stuck here?

Well, how much restarted? Do we want the same kind of story line only not as shall we say colorfull? Or do we want an entirely new thing? Cuz I like them too, and it is hard to do a lot when there's really no guiding plot.
