Does anyone have any mpg's to post?

I'm looking for video of foil bouts that anyone would be willing to post here. I'm a beginner and am hoping to get a look at some of the techniques other fencers use without travelling 300+ miles to a tournament every weekend. Thanks for the help!

Craig had posted one of a bout between Sean McClain and Jon Tiomkin. . . I have it saved, and if you ask Craig maybe he can dig up the link for you. Also if you are willing to pay money, go to fencing footage they have a bunch of high level stuff.

Thanks, I contacted him. Anyone else have anything they'd be willing to share, please let me know--thanks again.

You might want to know about...

You might want to know about an upcoming product which could answer your needs. I'm the creator of the product, so I'm sorry about the blatant commercialism that follows.

Link to a Foil Fencing Actions CD-ROM Promo page. It contains video clips of several actions, sorted by tactic. Each video clip has a few paragraphs of accompanying discussion.

Feedback from local fencers is good. Copies went out this weekend to Craig and some NAC finishers, to get their opinions. If everything goes well, the CD-ROM may be released around Feb 11th 2004.

There are some threads on this forum:

Or visit http://www.fencingfootage.com and look at their online clips.

    Walter,

I'm excited to see this new product you're coming out with. You sound hesitant in saying "it may be released." I hope that you do release it soon. What price will you be charging?

looks like a good idea, one thing that would make it more appealing to me is if you interviewed a bunch of high level coaches about what they tell their fencers to think about to make the actions and stuff. It's always nice to get a bunch of opinions on an action. Great idea though!

Hi! The due date is Feb 11th, because that also happens to be the due date of my first child. I'm trying to get them close together. It all depends on whether the review process can get done on time. That, and my wife.

We're still discussing the price of the product, and we'll need to factor in what we hear from the reviewers. As things get clearer, more information will appear on the promo pages... including some sample actions and discussions. I'm pretty excited about the CD-ROM, and I'm glad people are interested!
