| Trainings camp in Hungary Hi everyone,
The annual SOLTI-TEAM trainings camp is going to be held also this year. It will take place - as usual - at Szombathely, Hungary.
You can download the details here.
Personally I can only say that I've been there 5 times, and I always enjoyed it enormously...

| We are again trying to get a group together to go as well. The only real expense is the airfare. The dollars falling fast so it's going to be a challenge.
I hope to see you in Hungary, 1st round of drinks in the coaches’ bar are on me!
Egészsédére

| A couple questions What is the cost of lessons during the camp? Also- do you have to know any languages besides English? |

| I've found that English is understood by most coaches there and fencers.
Europeans being smarter then us due to their learning multiple languages their whole lives seems to help with that.
However, outside of the camp you may need something else.
Which is why I'm happy I speak tourist German and passable French. |

Knowing another language helps but here were enough people that spoke english as their second or third language that it was not a big problem.
As an example I am the typical American, I speak engilsh (& not very well at that) and nothing else and I had a great time and learned more than I could have imagined.
the poeple in the camp are great and so are the people in the litttle city where the camp is. I can't think of any thing bad to say.
If you can go, definatly do it. The only expense is getting there.
Cheers

Most of the coaches speak English, and if they don't, there's always at least 2 or 3 fencers who'll translate (last year I was the interpreter ). In the city you can get anything with the only use of English, so in the PBT shop.
Richard - thanx for the prices. |

| I'm going for the 1st time this summer... Looking forward to it already! What is the typical number of participants? Their age distribution? I am going alone from my club so I'll have to depend on making some friends at camp - shouldn't be too hard, right?! |

| Yes, this camp sounds great. I have my fingers crossed that I will be able to take the time off work to go. Is there a limited number of people allowed to sign up? The $280 cost seems very low. Am I missing something?
Anyways, I hope to make it!

| You are not missing anything; The camp is very inexpensive. The two times I went there were appox. 200 fencers of various ages in the three weapons.
The camp is great fun, I won't be there this year - I'll be nursing my knee back to health. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
The camp is great and the town it is in is fun as well. Good food, good people, everything within walking distance.
have fun in Hungary |
