really though if you look at it the us has some of the most varied climates in the world, there is a section of southern Cali that actually has a mediterranean climate. then you have the climate here in GA, sticky, hot, and at times the gnats actually seem like some sort of flying biting precipitation.

I remember being at a Boston Bruins game a few years back when Ray Borque was still playing for them. He got a slap shot right to the teeth. In the NHL there's no face plate requirement, so it knocked out half his teeth and blood was everywhere. He had to have emergency surgery or something after being rushed off the ice.

Anyway, that's my little hockey story with the puck to the teeth.

His heart falls out? I gotta play this again!

PKT - I am well aware of the expansion of water as it freezes and the possible resultant effects on swimming pools (hence the smiley face in my post). I really am not sure why so many Canadians have swimming pools, given that the useable season is all of, what, two weeks long around here.

    Yeah well.

I live in the South, do you know how hot it gets here?

On an average day in the summer it could be between 80-105 degrees, and thats just the temperature that doesn't account for how hot it feels in the humid air. Lets see you come down here. You'd sublimate you wouldn't even make it into the liquid stage you'd just immediately become Canadian vapor.
