Summer Camps

Hello everyone,

I know its early to start thinking about where to go for fencing summer camps this year, but I'd like to have an idea of which one to go to. I'm looking for an epee camp that's at least a week long, has a highly-regarded reputation for its coaches and program, AND has opportunities to do things non-fencing, i.e., field trips- like if youre near the beach youd spend time there... If anyone can recommend some to me, it would be most helpful as the camp information on this site seems to soley on the fencing program and nothing else.

I went to the Brown University camp two years ago. It is a week long and has some really great coaches. As for outside activities. Well, you are on Thayer St. which means there is a lot of restaurants and things of that nature. Plus there is a movie theatre and a pool hall. No beach or field trips though.

I believe Michael Marx and the Northwest Fencing Center in Portland, OR run a summer camp or two. He used to be a National Team Coach in epee, I believe.

Never been there, they tell me it's nice.
